**ABASTUR 2026**, hosted by Informa Markets, is Latin America’s most influential professional trade platform for the hotel, restaurant, and food service industry, focusing on the entire HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) value chain. The event will take place from August 26 to 28, 2026, at the Centro Banamex in Mexico City, covering an exhibition area of approximately 30,000 square meters. It will bring together over 600 domestic and international exhibitors and is expected to attract more than 20,000 professional buyers. The show features a comprehensive range of products including food and beverages, kitchen equipment, tableware, hotel supplies, technology, and services. Parallel events during the exhibition include The Hospitality Summit, The Hotel Showroom, Escenario Gourmet (Gourmet Stage), and Pabellón Bar (Bar Pavilion). Additionally, the Abastur Hub digital platform extends year-round buyer-seller engagement beyond the show floor. With Mexico’s tourism sector continuing to grow—accounting for around 8.7% of GDP and seeing an 8.8% year-on-year increase in international visitor arrivals—demand across Latin America for efficient, sustainable supply chain solutions in hospitality and foodservice is rising rapidly.

Following its successful debut at ABASTUR 2025, which marked a strong entry into the Latin American market, YapuGreen returned in 2026 to this key regional HORECA event, showcasing its systematic approach to sustainable food packaging to professional buyers across Mexico and the broader Latin American region. Our booth was designed around real-world operational scenarios in Latin American foodservice environments, highlighting an eco-friendly tableware portfolio tailored to tropical climates and high-frequency use: heat-resistant sugarcane fiber trays and containers that maintain structural integrity even with traditional Mexican hot dishes and buffet settings; biodegradable cornstarch cutlery offering lightweight comfort and compostable performance; kraft paper packaging retaining its lightness and water resistance, ideal for takeaway and delivery; aluminum foil containers gaining popularity among chain brands focused on premium delivery quality due to their excellent thermal conductivity and sealing properties; and high-durability PP tableware providing a practical transitional solution for cost-sensitive customers seeking to reduce reliance on single-use plastics. Notably, Latin American buyers at this year’s show have shifted their focus from simply asking “are there eco-friendly options?” to “do they align with operational efficiency?”—emphasizing oil and heat resistance under real-world conditions, consistent supply capabilities to support chain expansion, and competitive total cost of ownership. We delivered solid responses across these dimensions, engaging in in-depth discussions with multiple local Mexican distributors and Central American foodservice groups.

Through ABASTUR 2026, YapuGreen further strengthened brand recognition in Mexico and Central & South America while deepening relationships with leading regional distribution channels. As demand for sustainable food packaging in Latin America evolves from a trend-driven consensus toward large-scale implementation, this event has laid a stronger foundation for us to expand our regional supply chain presence and establish ourselves as a trusted long-term partner for eco-friendly tableware within the Latin American HORECA industry.
